We hold a small number of businesses we can explain in plain words, and we insist on a wide gap between price and value before we buy.
Prices move every day and we treat that as weather. The risk we manage is paying more for a business than it turns out to be worth.
How we think
Genuine discounts appear rarely. Cash held for those moments is a deliberate position, and we put it to work in three ways.
When a company we understand trades well below its worth, the reserves become a position. That is the moment the other two exist for.
We write conservative options against those reserves. Someone pays us a premium for a commitment we are glad to make.
Reserves sit in money market instruments and earn what the market pays for safety, ready to move within a day.

Twenty years inside large organizations, in corporate finance, controlling and as CFO, with responsibility across eleven countries. CPA, MBA and BS in Biochemistry from Louisiana State University. He has led the firm’s investment decisions since January 2024.
Managing Partner
Two decades in enterprise risk, internal controls and IT audit at public multinationals and private-equity-owned companies, then a decade directing technology capital allocation in manufacturing. MBA and BS in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University. He co-founded the firm with Seth in January 2024.
